What legitimately affects the price
- Access difficulty (loft runs, joist trenching, wall thickness)
- Existing wiring condition
- Whether Building Control notification is included (it should be)
- Whether certificates are included (they should be)
- Whether making-good the plaster is included (varies)
Red flags
- Cash only, no VAT receipt, no certificate
- Refuses to quote until they see the job (some jobs do need a survey, but a socket replacement does not)
- Quotes wildly above the ranges above with no explanation
- Cannot show NICEIC or NAPIT registration
- Wants deposit over 20 percent up front for a small job
How we quote
Free home survey (in person or via WhatsApp photos for simple jobs), then a fixed written price on the spot or same-day by email. What we quote is what you pay. If we find something extra on the day, we tell you and you approve it before we proceed.
